       We clearly observe that the markets in our business environment, within which means of transportation, information technologies and communication are growing like greased lightning, are no more local or domestic markets, rather they are turning into single global market. Any raw material is now traded at almost same price in all the markets across the globe. As a result, an increasingly growing number of international players and corporations are taking part in our domestic market, just like the case in other countries.

     It is also clear that primary raw materials are now traded at the same price across the globe and that this price is determined by the supply-demand equilibrium at global level (even though it is not stable due to certain reasons such as speculation). In general terms, any individual company that is engaged in manufacturing products or rendering services is no longer allowed to adjust, increase or reduce raw material prices on its own. Therefore, the only costs items producing companies may affect are cost of conversion and administrative costs (non-raw material costs).

     In this context, the companies that are able to produce quality and cheap products and services with on-time delivery terms will have a greater opportunity to increase their market share. In other words, those which are able to minimize cost of conversion and administrative costs will be guaranteed to play an active and determining role in the market. In short, successful companies of the near future will be those which make use of Lean Management Systems with effective operation, and devote themselves to continuous improvement of operational processes and procedures to ensure Operational Excellence

     Small- and medium-budget, non-institutionalized companies that do not make use of lean management systems are now faced with a much deeper trouble. Quite more likely, these companies will be affected by global crises that have become more frequent, even once every two or three years. Beyond making mention of growth, these companies will be hardly able to survive .(be afloat in the market).

     Then, how the hell do multi-national and international companies dominate the market, increasing their market share uninterruptedly? What should our local companies do in order to become determinative in highly competitive global market and turn into profit-making companies consistently? It is possible to generate solutions to these problems; we should start with examining management structures of the companies.
